Candace and Jorden had such a beautiful wedding day!

The wedding colors were black and wine, which looked lovely together. The bridesmaids wore simple but elegant black dresses, and the guys wore black suits with wine vests and ties. They had a beautiful 3 tiered black and white wedding cake with a groom’s cake that was made into the shape of a Crown Royal bottle.

Cedar Grove Tchoupitoulas Plantation is where they held the ceremony and reception. After getting their hair and makeup done at her mom’s house, the bride and her bridesmaids traveled to the venue to finish getting ready. All the girls helped Candace with getting her dress laced up! Her very soon to be sister in law helped put her shoes on, and her grandmother put on her pearl necklace and bracelet. Once she was dressed it was time for the first look!

We set Jorden up in the front room of the venue. Candace walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder, his signal to turn around. As he saw his bride in her dress for the first time, his smile could not have been bigger! They immediately embraced each other and began kissing. Candace started to tear up, but luckily Jorden had some tissues in his jacket! It was such a sweet, genuine moment and we are so glad we were able to capture it!

We took a few bride and groom and wedding party portraits and then it was time for the ceremony!

There were quite a few tears shed during the procession, including some from the lovely bride! Candace, her daughter and Jorden did a sand ceremony to signify the unity of their new family.

After the ceremony we went to the front room for family portraits! When family photos were done we went outside for some quick husband and wife portraits. It was apparent how happy, in love and excited they were to be married!

As the newlywed couple walked onto the dance floor for their first dance, they were glowing with love. After Candace and Jorden’s beautiful first dance, Candace danced with her dad followed by a dance with both the mother of the bride and mother of the groom.

The reception was full of little surprises! The maid of honour, best man and Candace’s daughter gave very heartfelt speeches! And her brother serenaded the couple! The food was delicious and the weather was so nice that many of the guests enjoyed the night outside in the courtyard and everyone enjoyed a fun second line throughout the venue!

Some advice that Candace has for other brides is to stand up for what you want. The day is about and for you!

Candace and Jorden, thank you for choosing us to be a part of your day! We hope you have many, many wonderful years together!
