It had been drizzling on and off the whole way to the getting ready location, but we knew that no matter the weather this was going to be a great day! And we were right!

The girls were getting ready at Kelsey’s friend’s house. When we arrived everyone was hanging out watching Kelsey get her hair and makeup done. They were wearing the cutest matching green robes with their initials monogrammed in gold! After hair and makeup was done, Kelsey’s mom presented her with a very special gift! It was a handkerchief with a special message and a picture of a dress that her grandmother had embroidered onto it. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room when Kelsey opened it!

The guys were getting ready just a few houses away at Kelsey and Kyle’s house. When Amber got there the house was buzzing with excitement. The groom’s cake was getting some last minute touch ups, there were babies being fed, and the guys were all getting dressed.

A limo bus picked up the girls to bring them to the venue where Kelsey would get dressed.

The wedding was held at Lake House Reception Center in Baton Rouge. It has such a gorgeous exterior with a beautiful intimate space inside!

Before the ceremony, Kelsey and Kyle read letters from each other. They did not read them out loud but you could tell by their smiles that they were sweet!

During the wedding, Kelsey and Kyle did a sand unity ceremony. They each poured a different colored sand into a frame with a picture of them in it. What a special way to symbolize their new union!

Once portraits were done, it was time to dance!

Kyle had a boutonniere made from a very large flower as a joke to surprise Kelsey with. He changed from his regular one to the gag flower right before the mother/son dance. Kelsey’s face when she saw it was priceless!

The guests enjoyed participating in many traditions during the reception such as the garter and bouquet toss, cake pulls and the money dance. As the reception came to an end, the best man and matron of honor both gave speeches. They told the story of how Kelsey and Kyle started dating and reminisced on how Kyle proposed. Kyle thanked everyone for coming and they ended the night with a fun bubble send off from their guests!

They picked dark green as one of their wedding colors because Kelsey and Kyle were both born in May and have emerald as their birthstone. They expressed their love of Disney with a few small details in their wedding! The cake topper was written in a Disney font and the garter had a small Mickey Mouse on it. Their wedding hashtag was even HappilyEverHaremza!

This is what they had to say about their wedding planning experience. “It was definitely stressful at some moments, but we managed to get through everything with only a few small bumps. When things got difficult, we sat down and talked things through to try and figure out why we were so stressed and realized it was over little things that didn’t matter.

It was slightly more difficult than we thought to plan a wedding, but we did it!”

Kelsey has this advice to share with other brides. “Keep pushing through! Make your vision for your special day known so you can stick with it.”

Kelsey and Kyle, thank you for choosing us to capture your special day!
