When we arrived at the house where Katie and her bridesmaids were getting ready, everyone was buzzing with excitement! As Katie was finishing up getting her makeup done we got started on capturing her details. She has the prettiest princess cut engagement ring that photographed perfectly! Once everyone’s hair and makeup was done, we took the girls outside to the front go the house to get some shots in their matching robes. All of the bridesmaids wore matching blue silk robes with their name and title. The little girls all wore sweet, matching, pink night gowns. Once these were done, it was time to get ready! While they started to get dressed it was time for Amber to head over to where Dennis was.
Since it was just Dennis, his best man and a friend, the house was quiet and calm. There was a relaxed, but excited vibe. The limos arrived at each house and it was time to head to the La Maison Creole!
Katie and Dennis decided to do a first look! We love this because we are able to get more intimate shots of them before it’s completely dark outside. Dennis also did a first look with their daughter, which was adorable! After the first look, it was time for Katie to get tucked away as guests were starting to arrive.
Katie’s dad has passed away. To symbolize his presence at their wedding, they placed his wheelchair in the front row with a portrait of him placed on it. As Katie walked down the aisle, her dress was caught on the wheel of the chair, a moment that felt like he was there to give her away. They had a short and sweet ceremony that ended with a long dipped kiss.
Straight after the ceremony we pulled the bride, groom and family upstairs. We always have a list of requested pictures to help make this time flow as smooth as possible!
The DJ announced the new Mr. and Mrs. Adams and we went to the cake table for some more portraits. It was then time for their first dance! After they shared a first dance as husband and wife, they did a first dance with their daughter. Charleigh loved this and definitely showed off all of her dance moves for everyone to see!
Katie and Dennis took the time to go to each table and greet their guests. Once the greeting was done and Katie and Dennis ate, they stayed on the dance floor the rest of the night! There was never a point that the dance floor was close to empty, which we took as everyone was definitely enjoying their night celebrating!
Katie and Dennis, we wish you endless years of love and happiness! Thank you for letting us capture your special day!
